Healing the New Childhood Epidemics

Autism can be reversed. ADHD can be reversed. Asthma can be reversed. Allergies can be reversed. Did I read that correctly? Yes I did.

And after reading Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma and Allergies I am more convinced that we are doing the right thing by making sure we are exposed to the least amount of toxins as possible, by eating organic and more raw produce, by drinking our green smoothies with vegetables and green powder - and even delaying potty training for our 2 year old who will not poop for days without a diaper.

In his book, Kenneth Bock, MD explains how he has reversed autism, ADHD, asthma and allergies in his patients.

Some excerpts:

In Paul's case, as in those of many autistic kids, one of the primary assaults on his system was probably from vaccinations that contained high levels of toxic mercury. This assault appeared to have harmed his brain and the rest of his body... Autism is still classified as strictly a psychiatric disorder, but that's a diagnostic error. It certainly doesn't start from emotional problems. It starts from physical harm to the brain. Therefore, it's actually a neurological disorder. More specifically, it's a neurotoxic disorder, because it's caused primarily by the presence of destructive elements that injure the brain:
- toxic chemicals
- viruses
- incomplete proteins
- inflammation
- immune cells that attack the brain

How It Happened
... the cause of autism is not primarily genetic, but is a complex combination of genetics and environment... Genetics alone don't cause epidemics... Epidemics occur when genetic vulnerabilities are assaulted by environmental changes-introductions of a new virus, a new bacteria, or a new toxin.

Over the past two decades, autism has increased 1500%, ADHD 400%, asthma 300% (with asthma deaths increasing by 56%) and allergies 400%. (Click here for more information.)

The Four Catastrophic Changes created a veritable perfect storm of physical and neurological insult, which struck hardest at our society's most vulnerable members: our children.
1. toxins proliferated
2. nutrition deteriorated
3. vaccinations increased
4. ability to detoxify dwindled

The Healing Program creates recoveries by:
- eliminating further exposure to toxins
- flushing existing toxins out of the system, primarily by detoxification, and by restoring the miracle of methylation
- healing the damage that the toxins have triggered
- restoring proper function of the nervous system, the immune system, and the gastrointestinal system

The Healing Program is:
1. Nutritional Therapy: whole organic foods, avoid allergenic foods, avoid yeast proliferating foods, carbohydrates limited, avoid gluten and casein
2. Supplemental Therapy: multivitamins, anti oxidants, fatty acids, probiotics, etc.
3. Detoxification
4. Medication

Allergies are among the most powerful and destructive of all the interwoven forces that compose the new childhood epidemics.
- Allergies contribute immeasurably to the epidemics of autism, ADHD, and asthma.
- Allergies are an epidemic in their own right. Food allergies have increased by approximately 700% in just the last 10 years.

The vast majority of all children with autism, ADHD, and asthma have serious allergies.

Disorders associated with allergies: ADHD, arthritis, asthma, candida problems, chronic ear infections, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, cognitive and mood disorders, diabetes, digestive disorders, eating disorders, eczema, acne, and hives, fibromyalgia, hay fever, headaches, hypoglycemia, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, obesity and sinusitis.

The 4-A epidemics have not occurred in isolation. The other health issues that are most closely associated with the 4-A epidemics, and that are most threatening and disruptive, are: 1. childhood cancers (toxins most frequently linked to the rising incidence of these cancers are those found in pesticides and industrial chemicals), 2. diabetes (type 1 linked to aluminium in vaccinations), 3. obesity and 4. learning disabilities. For the most part, these problems revolve around the same essential issues as the 4-A disorders: toxicity, nutritional deficiencies, immune dysfunction, metabolic imbalance, and failure to adequately detoxify.
